<lj:music>If You Fall - Azure Ray</lj:music>

Enough negativity about school! Let's talk about stuff I love.

For some reason I'm really obsessed with finding cute illustrators on the internet lately. This is likely because I like absurdly cute things in general. And some of my favourite are sort of a cartoon/doodle/illustration hybrid.

Marc Johns is one of those people. He's from Victoria, he uses watercolours on Post-It notes and he tells cute little stories with his designs.

Here are some that I love:

(this is a little bit like the Starbucks holidays ads, which I love against my better judgement)

(I love that he's kind of mocking the antler trend, which is everywhere in the indie scene. I mean, I still love deer. But antler earrings? Jackalope tee-shirts? Everywhere!)

(Who wants to let me try cutting their hair with grass clippers?)

see more of his stuff at www.marcjohns.com

    <lj:music>Apartment Story - The National</lj:music>

What a good/bad day! I had the kind of morning that can only be explained in timeline form.

12 am: After hours of wasting time on the internet, I finally decide to go to bed. (I have class at 8:30)

2 am: I am still trying to get to sleep. I give up on that, start watching an episode of the Hills and instantly fall asleep.

5 am: I wake up, and can't get back to sleep. After trying for a hour, I give up and decide to just stay awake until my class. I start reading fan fiction. I fall asleep.

8 am: I sleep through three alarms. I miss my first class entirely.

11 am: I wake up. My class is in thirty minutes. It takes me thirty minutes to get to campus and my hair is greasy. &@#!$. I get ready in four minutes. I look disgusting.

11:30 am: I am on campus! I am not late! I walk into the wrong classroom. It takes me a full ten minutes to realize my mistake.

12 pm: I finally find the right classroom. I have no idea what's going on. Ugh.

My class was really really interesting (seminar about the charter of rights and freedoms, what what!) but very difficult. I have nothing to say. Participation is something like 25% of the mark. I am going to fail.

A boy who is the premier of Ontario's son (this fact is only exciting to me) and I are friends now! I asked him why he dropped the class we had together last semester and we started talking about profs. The following exchange occurred:

Boy: Do you like Kellow?
Me: I LOVE him!
Boy: I used to write down all his quotes in class.
Me: ME TOO! Like when he said, "What are badgers for?" and someone said it was to make more badgers and he said, "Well, why do we want more badgers? I mean, they're cute, kind of like furry ottomans, but what are they for?"
Boy: Or the time he talked about the episode of Sex and the City where Carrie calls deciding between shoes and a purse "Sophie's Choice"?
Me: YES. Amazingly enough, I was googling him the other day-
Boy: I think I know what you're going to say.
Me: - and someone has a webpage with his quotes on it!
Boy: YES. I also found that!

Aha. Ahahahaha. I love him. I must marry him. Alas, he has a girlfriend. And may be a jerk. But anyone who admits to googling profs is alright in my books.
